IMAGIN & NTPC Farakka CSR: Partnering for Clean Communities

IMAGIN collaborated with NTPC Farakka to celebrate Swachhata Pakhwada  2025 (16.05.2025 to 31.05.2025), a vital Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative . The collaboration was designed to develop a focused intensive campaign for awareness and action around cleanliness and sanitation, in line with national priorities. IMAGIN and NTPC Farakka CSR Team  worked together to design meaningful interventions.

The joint-activities kicked off on May 18, 2025, with a lively Nukkad Natak (street play) at the NTPC Farakka station. This performance effectively captured the attention of visitors and local residents, delivering key messages on hygiene and public cleanliness. To further support waste management, 5 dustbins were handed over to the Station Master. A large-scale Cleanliness Drive followed, seeing enthusiastic participation from NTPC officials, the IMAGIN team, students, ASHA workers, Gram Panchayat members, and VWSC Members. The event was honoured by the presence of  Shri Sanjay Srivastava, GM (O&M), NTPC Farakka, Shri Satheesh S, GM (BE & EMG), NTPC Farakka, Shri Alok Kumar Ranbir, Head of HR, NTPC Farakka, Ms. Debaleena Das – Deputy General Manager (HR), NTPC Farakka,  Shri Nihal Kumar Singh – Deputy Manager (HR), NTPC Farakka, Ms. Chumki Das – Executive (CSR), NTPC Farakka  and Soma Maity, Chairperson of IMAGIN.

 

The following day, May 19, 2025, focused on community mobilization at the scenic Gandhi Ghat. Another powerful Street Play, performed in the local dialect, deeply resonated with the audience, addressing critical themes like hygiene, littering, and behavioral change. This was followed by an Oath-taking Ceremony that solidified participants’ commitment to maintaining clean surroundings. A Community Cleanliness Drive was enthusiastically initiated by volunteers and local residents, and NTPC Farakka further supported efforts by donating dustbins to the Gandhi Ghat Swachhata Committee.

 

 

 

On May 20, 2025, we organized a valuable “Waste to Wealth” Workshop in Khairakandi Village. This session was chaired by  Unmesh Mitra , Assistant Manager- Business & Biodiversity , IORA Ecological Trust and Pranab Bhuina, Senior Training Coordinator &  WASH Specialist- IMAGIN . This workshop empowered attendees with practical knowledge for sustainable waste practices.

 

The Swachhata Pakhwada celebrations culminated on May 29, 2025, at the Regional Learning Institute (RLI), PTS of NTPC Farakka. This event, in collaboration with IMAGIN, aimed to raise awareness among 120 young girls of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM). A joyful and engaging Nukkad Natak, performed with music and dance, conveyed crucial messages about cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene, and waste management. The event was honoured by the presence of Smt. Seema Singhal, President, and Smt. Ratna Srivastava, Senior Member, of the Udita Ladies Club.

Through these comprehensive activities, IMAGIN, in partnership with NTPC Farakka, successfully engaged diverse communities, provided essential resources, and effectively spread vital awareness about cleanliness and sanitation. We are proud to contribute to building a cleaner, healthier future for all.
